Objectives of the Operational Group
- Reduce food losses and waste (FLW) in the fruit and vegetable (FV) sector through the development of new services supported by digital tools.
- Reduce FLW in the FV through the development of new services supported in digital tools.
- Diagnose FLW in the FV sector.
- Facilitate the implementation of FLW prevention plans in the FV primary sector.
- Facilitate decision-making for the prevention of FLW based on sustainability criteria (environmental, social and economic).
- Provide prevention alternatives for FV FLW following the hierarchy of food uses adapted to the sector and the territory.
- Raise awareness and sensitize companies in the FV sector of the importance of reducing FLW and its measurement.
Activities of the Operational Group
1 – Design and coordination of the PDApp platform.
2 – Conceptual design of protocols to develop FLW prevention plans and FLW measurement in the primary fruit and vegetable sector.
3 – Development of the sustainability tool.
4 – Design of a decision tree to structure the alternatives for prevention and recovery of existing FLW.
5 – Digital development of the PDApp platform.
6 – Validation of the PDApp platform.
7 – Dissemination, communication and awareness.
